Do you ever feel guilty for sitting around at home on a Friday night? I absolutely do. My roommates like to tell me that you need quiet nights in, but whenever I spend my day/weekend sitting around doing nothing, I feel like I'm wasting my life away. Even though it's been cold out the past few days, I hate loafing around - I did enough of that while I lived in Florida.
Someone once told me that it seems like everyone in New York City is an artist. Photographers, musicians, writers, actors - everyone has their own thing. It should come as no surprise, then, that finding art in New York City is super easy. Everywhere you look, there's a performance of something, even if it's just people doing SHOWTIME on the subway. For this bucket list item, I wanted to catch some live music, but not pay a ridiculous amount go to MSG or the Barclay's Center.
If you know me at all, you know that music is my favorite thing in the world. I have headphones on almost 24/7, and I'll never pass up a concert. Unfortunately, I've been slacking in the live music area, and haven't been to a show since Springsteen in February. So, it was by pure luck that I won a contest at work and got hooked up with tickets to see an act I knew very little about - Trans-Siberian Orchestra!
